    Jenniffer Weigel is determined to keep in touch with her dad even though Chicago sportscaster Tim Weigel died at age 56 in 2001. The Evanston resident tells of her efforts to reconnect with her late father in "Stay Tuned: Conversations with Dad from the Other Side" (Hampton Roads Publishing Company, Inc., 2007), a very personal account of her quest.

the cardinal returns

I was really stuck recently with a writing project- totally lost-  and I was pissed because it was Father's Day- which I usually hate because that's the day my Dad died.  So I decided to take my dog for a walk and see if I could clear my head.

I recently met a woman known as "Mustard Girl".  (She is the creator and CEO of "Mustard Girl" Mustard, thus the name.)  Her real name is Jennifer Connor, and we were having lunch recently, and she was sharing a story about how she started her company.  See, she used to frequent a burger stand in Madison Wisconsin where she went to college, and she loved the mustard that the man made by hand.  She would crave it, and go out of her way just to get the stuff slathered on another burger.

When I heard about news anchor Sue Simmons from New York blurting out the "F-bomb" on the air to her co-anchor, it really made me wish we'd had "You tube" back when I was an anchor for CBS.
